Make the stronghold a Strong-Hold! (from the Prayer Meeting of 05-09-2006)

“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”1 Chronicles 4:10

Yesterday’s prayer meeting was awesome. Definitely, everyone present there was so touched by the message by Pastor Michael, on the “Prayer of Jabez”, turning the once negatively strongheld areas of our lives, into a really blessed strong-hold… like when David fought and won the city of the Jebusites to make it the City of David; a stronghold of Israel.

Yes brothers and sisters. Its time to fight and win over all those painful areas of your lives, that once kept pressing you down; that was a burden for so long. The Lord calls us to take control over them and make that very pain, a strength and through that, be a blessing to others.

God wants to bless us; to prosper (enlarge) us in whatever we do; be that mighty shelter over us; fight and keep away the schemes of the evil one from us and then take away the pain, so that we will be equipped to bless others.

As Reinhard Bronkke says, “Invite Jesus into your house and give Him all the keys (not just one room) and he will take care of everything.”

Weekly (Tuesday) Prayer Meetup

Life Centre will gather today (5th September 2006) evening at 6.00pm for a time of worship & prayer at the church premises at No:5, Ridgeway Place, Bambalapitiya (opposite St. Peter’s College, Colombo-4).

This is the beginning of a great journey of revival through prayer, for this Nation. And all of us believe that this weekly gathering will grow to a great extent, to become a tremendous impact on the lives of people in this City.

We’ll stand firm in faith, believing that Jesus is in control of this City. Be there to be a part of this phenominal experience.

Missions Sunday @ Life Centre & AGM

Today (3rd September 2006) was the September 2006 – Missions Sunday @ Life Centre. The morning service heard a great message by Pastor Michael on how “God gives us, even though we don’t deserve”, after an awesome worship session. It was also nice to have Brother Isiah from Japan, an exchange student and colleague of Pastor Debbie from the Colombo Theological School, sharing about his personal experience on Missions and generally about beliefs among the Japanese. The church prayed over Brother Isiah for his ministry.

The service was followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Church held in the same venue at Bible House, Colombo. Many members of the church gathered for this occassion which recapped about the wonderful events that took place at Life Centre, during this amazing year that passed by. More on this to follow…..

A New Look to the Life Centre Worship Team

The Life Centre Worship Team recently got a bit more strengthened up, along with the addition of new singers to the choir. An audition was held before the practice sessions began at the Bible House Auditorium, which was followed by a powerful message to the team, on “Being a true worshipper” delivered by Ps. Kumar and Ps. Michael.

Here’s the team after the very first practice session. (Click on the image to enlarge)

AG Ceylon, celebrates 100 years of the new Pentecost

Assemblies of God, Ceylon celebrated the Azusa Street Centennial with an awesome 2 day rally held at People’s Church, Narahenpita on the 22nd & 23rd of August 2006. All who attended were stirred by the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit and got to experience the beginning of a new wave of revival in our Nation.

The Life Centre Web Site. Let’s make it!

So…. Plans are underway to build the Web Site for Life Centre, AG, Bambalapitiya. The Media Team will start their brainstroming sessions soon with Jamie & Jua handling the creative section. It doesn’t end there. We need a solid foundation to build this site. And apart from having Jesus, who is our rock, as the base, we want you also to be a part of this.

We would love to hear your ideas & comments on what you’d like to see in your own Church’s website. And how we can make things better. We will need to focus on reaching all age groups of people from all walks of life, very specially those who are mostly in need of knowing and experiencing the love of Jesus. I’m sure the Holy Spirit will guide us all, to make sure that we have a site that will primarily assist in our Church’s vision and thereby impacting many other Churches and Souls, ultimately bringing Glory to the Kingdom of our Father.

We will be looking out for (domain) names for the website and Pastor Michael’s thinking is that we should have a “.org” address, since our reach, should be global and that a “.lk” address will limit us in some form to Sri Lanka alone. Any suggestions are welcome.
